Amsterdam attractions

Amsterdam attractions: you have recreational and cultural sights that range from fascinating old buildings, to oddities such as Madame tussauds. But Amsterdam museums are the main tourist attraction in Amsterdam.

the old church The old church
I will show you the other attractions. If you love old buildings(I like them very much), there are some places that cannot be missed. The old Church has little houses clinging to its sides. It has a Gothic-renaissance style and very odd: it's in the middle of the Red light district. Its on the Oude kerkstraat.

Begijnhof
A narrow passageway leads to charming garden surrounded by beautiful old houses. Its called the Begijnhof. The celibate Beguine nuns used to live here. Nowadays there still live just old ladies. No 34 is the oldest house in Amsterdam. In the centre there is a medieval church. The entrance is on the Spui. You will see a carved sign. The entrance is free.

Royal palace

On Damsquare you find the Royal palace. Holland has A big royal family. The queens name is Beatrix. She does not live in this palace . Its used sometimes for special occasions. It has a classical facade and fine sculptures. On Damsquare you also find the Amsterdam historical museum

The Jordaan was once a working class area. Nowadays it is a very popular area with little shops, art galleries and typical Amsterdam cafes. The converted warehouses are especially popular.

Madame Tussauds madame Tussauds
A very popular attraction is Madame tussauds. See your favourite celebrity waxworks at this amazing place.I had dinner with George Clooney at madame Tussauds and my daughter laid on a bed with Robbie Wiliams. Its recommended to buy tickets on the internet before you go, because the rows can be very long.

Artis zoo
Amsterdam has an old famous zoo called Artis zoo. It consists of four main areas: Zoo, Planetarium, Botanical Gardens and Geological and Zoological museum. In the zoo itself you will find animals from all over the world. The Geological museum shows you how the planet has evolved over the past 4 billion years.
