The concertgebouw: Over eight hundred concerts per year take place in the Concertgebouw, for a public of 850,000. It makes it the second most-visited concert hall in the world (Rome's Parco della musica ranking N. 1 with over one million). All the great classical musiccomposers are being performed here. Is's a beautiful old building already build in 1888.

Housed in a former dairy, the Melkweg (Milky Way) is Amsterdam's biggest multi-functional entertainment venue, and offers live music, drama, movies, a weekend disco, a bar and a restaurant. The programming includes big(ger) international acts as well as local talent. In recent years a second concert hall was added, so that the Melkweg is able to host double feature nights.

The Bimhuis has been a much loved jazz venue in Amsterdam for more than 25 years. The new Bimhuis provides a perspective on Dutch and international music with more than 200 concerts annually, in which a variety of jazz and improvised live music can be enjoyed – as well as variations such as funk, poetry and spoken word. Its location, adjoins the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ.

Maloe Melo is the home of the Blues.
Maloe Melo, on the Lijnbaansgracht, has live music every night of the week. Although it’s called a Blues Café, other music genres like Rock’n’Roll, Rockabilly, Soul, Funk and Punk also feature on the bill quite regularly. With free entrance most nights and a bar that stays open until the early hours, it’s a must for all music lovers. You can find it in the Leidsepleinarea.
Hotel Old quarter
Friendly hotel bar on Amsterdam's famous Warmoesstraat with a live Jazz session every Monday, regularly featuring some of the best Jazz musicians in Holland. Starting in mid-October, there will be Karaoke every Friday and Saturday evening. it's situated in the red light district.
