Amsterdam airport: The largest Dutch airport is Schiphol near Amsterdam. It is the most likely place to arrive when you travel to Amsterdam. Amsterdam airport is already an attraction on its own. If you would never leave the airport like in the movie the “Terminal” with Tom Hanks, you would never get bored. The travelers are being entertained and pampered while waiting for their flight.
Here's a sound piece of advice to all travelers: make sure you get to the airport in plenty of time! We recommend the following check-in times for flights:
two hours prior to departure if you are flying to a European destination
three hours prior to departure if you are flying to a destination outside Europe
The check-in desks are situated in Departure Halls 1, 2 and 3 and are numbered.
-Departure Hall 1: desk rows 1 up to and including 8 -Departure Hall 2: self-service check-in and baggage drop-off points row 9 up to and including 12, and check-in balies 13 up to and including 16 -Departure Hall 3: desk rows 17 up to and including 32 Rembrandt on Amsterdam airport 
Things to do while waiting for you flight. Schiphol is already an attraction. Don't forget your intellectual baggage! Visit this annex of the famous Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and gaze at a collection of famous works by Dutch masters from the Golden Age. While waiting for your flight, you can play exciting games in the Holland casino. Win back the money you’ve spend:-) Time lost becomes time gained. As a passenger you can rent a mini office, which is among other things equipped with a PC, telephone and fax. It is even possible to get secretarial support. 
Experience the special atmosphere of a typical Amsterdam bar. Sit down with a newspaper and a pikketanissie (a typically Dutch drink). At the reading table, you can also have a good lunch or dinner. You can find ultra comfortable 'snooze chairs' at various parts of the Amsterdam airport. These are great to just sink into and relax if you have some time before boarding. Traveling can be exhausting, but with a back-to-life massage you will be another person in no time. You can choose a chair massage or an aqua massage. Allow yourself to be surprised by one of the many surprising toilets at Schiphol. You will feel as though you are in the heart of Amsterdam or are being surrounded by Dutch tulips. Location: G-pier and Lounge 2. The silence centre is suitable for people of all religions. There are various textbooks available for perusal in several languages. On Sundays a service is held at 11.00 hours. Schiphol Plaza: the ideal place to do your shopping, buy a present or welcome gift, or just to have a bite or a drink in an international atmosphere. Open 7 days a week from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. Schiphol Plaza, located before passport control, is open to passengers and the general public! If the wait gets too long, your children will be able to get rid of some of their energy by playing on the slides and carts.
